What is the INBS & UCS Co-Design Centre?

The INBS&UCS is the collaborative university Centre for R&D in Intelligent NanoBio System and Ubiquious Communication System Co-Design in Western Australia, which provides platform technologies and world class equipment and facilities for R&D in NanoBio System and Ubiquious Communication systems to researchers from universities, state government and industry. The INBS&UCS organizes several research groups and companies would be able to access space and use the INBS&UCS facilities. It is based at Murdoch University in Perth.

Our Mission

"To provide state-of-the-art facilities and equipment enabling multidisciplinary research in Intelligent NanoBio systems which underpins the nanotech and biotech industries and ubiquitous communication systems for high speed networks industries, for the benefit of the community. This will be achieved by being recognised as the Centre for Intelligent NanoBio System (INBS) and Ubiquitous Communication System (UCS) Co-Design in WA providing national and international research links and collaborations fostering establishment of national Centres in leading edge technologies"

Characteristics of the INBS&UCS Co-Design Centre

• The INBS&UCS Centre is a multi-user Centre with an annual research fund of about $4 million. There is a critical mass of more than 15 researchers (five post doctoral research fellows, 5 post-graduates, 5 honor students). The INBS&UCS combines university, state government and industry researchers in one cost-effective Centre
• The INBS&UCS Centre operates as a 'Virtual Research Centre' in which different groups rent common laboratory space and access to platform technologies
• The INBS&UCS Centre supports incubation and co-location of intelligent NanoBio System(inbs) and Ubiquitous Communication System(ucs) Co-Design companies in WA and further Australia.
• The INBS&UCS Centre promotes collaborative research, undertakes contract research, and provides many local, national and international linkages.
• The INBS&UCS Centre researchers are members of NanoBio & Ubiquitous Communciation System Cooperative Centers.
